· Upon joining the Club, new members receive a one-time $25 gift card from Hawthorn Gardens Nursery in Hawthorn Woods. This offsets the current $25 annual dues.
Discounted Membership Dues:
· If joining after October, dues will be discounted by 50%, or 12.50. If joining in February, dues are exempt until they are paid in the next month for the coming year.
District Membership:
· Membership dues include admission to District IX of Illinois, offering classroom education opportunities, convention and meetings, floral shows, awards and recognition, community involvement, and networking with over 2,000 members across 47 clubs in northeast Illinois.
State Membership:
· Members’ dues include membership in the state Garden Clubs of Illinois. This includes an online tri-annual subscription to their publication Garden Glories highlighting all state, district, and club news.
National Membership:
· Members’ dues include membership in the National Garden Club. This includes an online quarterly subscription to their publication The National Gardener, highlighting articles of interest to environmentalists, gardeners, landscapers, floral designers, educators, and nature photographers. Featured columns provide readers with leadership advice, seasonal recipes, and garden club lore.
Monthly Programs and Workshops:
· Enjoy up to ten monthly programs presented by expert speakers on a variety of topics, including horticulture, floral design, wildlife, environment, and sustainable gardening practices. Participate in state or district workshops to develop your skills further.
Annual Program Directory:
· Members receive an annual Club program booklet with information pertaining to national, state, and district contact information. Club information includes member data, officers and committee chairman data, monthly program data, calendar of events, club projects, by-laws, club history and awards.
Exclusive Plant Sale and Exchanges:
· Members have access to homegrown plants through various club events, including the highly anticipated spring plant sale and the perennial and house plant exchange.
Chicago Botanic Garden Discount:
· Receive a reduced membership discount as a member of the Club. Mention Club membership when joining or renewing CBG subscription.

· Participate in annual May plant sale. All members participate by providing plants and by assisting in the set-up and the sale of plants. Monies raised by the sale
help to fund the Club programs and other events.
· Provide refreshments for meetings. All members sign up to bring refreshments at one of the meetings held during the year.
· Help at the Ela Area Library gardens during July meeting.
· Only Associate members are exempt from responsibilities.
