1. This year wedonated $200.00 to the Garden Clubs of Illinois for the "Save theMonarchs Project." We are dedicated to the preservation of these beautiful creatures. See our Monarch Butterfly subheading. 2. Members participate in maintenance of the Ela Public Library gardens. 3. Annual Spring Plant Sale in May. 4. Our club provides maintenance of the Clock Tower Garden in Celebration Park, which is located at the corner of Main St and Old Rand Rd in the Village of Lake Zurich. 5. Donations are given to two food pantries in the area on a rotation basis. The food pantries are: St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. 6. Decoration of the Ela Public Library Christmas Treeeach year in late November. Members provide decorations pertinent to gardening when possible and take down the tree after Christmas. 7. Replacing the plants of the Ruth Cameron Memorial Planter--located in the library garden. 8. Audubon Society---Commemorative Stamp Project. Stamps are collected and forwarded to Kay McNeil, GCI's Birds and Butterflies Chairperson. Funds are raised for the sale of stamps and used to purchase property for Wildlife.
